Today is a very special day in my life!

7 years ago today was mine and my husband’s first date and as first dates go,

It was an EPIC one.

I was living in Sausalito CA and Rick had just taken a job in Silicon Valley and was in the process of relocating from Virginia.

We met on E-Harmony (I never expected to meet my soul mate online…lol).

Because he was new to the area, I suggested we meet in Half Moon Bay so I could show him the beautiful coastline. I secretly loved that he didn’t have a clue of the area and that I got to plan the entire date ;-).

It was very unlike me to plan an entire day for a first date, I was typically like “let’s just meet for coffee”.

We met in a parking lot at 9am on Sunday Dec.14th, 2014 and we proceeded down the coastline in my little mini-cooper(I love driving that car on the winding roads!) to a little town called Pescadero.

On the way there as we drove down the coastline, he spotted a single bench that looked over the water and suggested that we might need to go to that bench, but warned me that if we did, he would have to kiss me there….

I kept driving…;-)

Near Pescadero, there is an adorable goat farm called Harvey’s Goat Farm and that was our destination (also another funny first date, but he was up for it) .

They were having a little fair that day at the farm and we had such a beautiful time. Then we went into the town of Pescadero and got coffee at a coffee shop that also carried super cool vintage artifacts. We walked the entire town, went into all the shops, and then it was time to figure out what to do about lunch…

The topic of the bench comes up again and we decided to pack a picnic lunch from the little country store there and go eat at “our bench” looking over the ocean.

Yes, this was also our first kiss and the beginning of a new and transformative new life for each of us in ways we could have never imagined!

I am so grateful to the Divine for this moment in time. Our coming together was also the beginning of our journey back to the Divine within each of us.

From that day on, we have been inseparable.

In 7 years time, we have each left our old careers, having no idea what was next, moved to another country, been through a near death of Rick which lead to an out-of-body experience which miraculously improved his condition, and basically started all over from scratch with each other. We have healed each other emotionally, mentally, physically just as the angels told us we would and still are.

The angels came to Rick through a “intuitive” before we even met and told him that he was going to California because of a job, but he was really going there to meet me and the job wouldn’t last…which it didn’t, but we do.

So much synchronicity and serendipity around our coming together and it has continued throughout our relationship.

When we still lived in the states, we went to our bench every year on December 14th and for Christmas one year, I commissioned my artist friend to create a painting of our bench from a picture Rick had taken. Thank you Elaine! I miss you very much. We are so grateful to have this painting since we aren’t able to go back every year anymore. It means more every year.

Thank you for reading and allowing me to express such gratitude to God for bringing the love of my life to me at the perfect time and in the perfect way.

I was 45 and didn’t think I would ever love again. I love you Rick, and I love you Divine One…you have been so sweet to me.
